Are To Go Green containers microwave-safe?
Yes; To Go Green containers are microwave-safe for reheating food.

Do I have to clean my containers before returning them?
Please rinse your containers of any food residue before returning them. Once returned, your containers will be thoroughly washed and sanitized for the next customer’s use.

Do I have to pay a deposit to check out containers?
Nope! Our containers are completely free to customers as long as they’re returned by or before the deadline.

Is there a To Go Green membership or subscription fee?
Nope! You only pay when you order from a restaurant.

Can I keep my To Go Green containers?
We ask that you return your containers to any of our restaurant partners as soon as possible after eating or within 3 weeks of placing your order. Our system is only truly sustainable if containers are returned for reuse.

What if I don’t return my containers on time?
You will be charged a $5 fee per container returned after the deadline. We have a limited number of containers in circulation and rely on timely returns to make our service available to all.

Are reusables hygienic?

What are To Go Green containers made of?
Our containers are made of polypropylene, an FDA-approved food contact material that is nonvolatile, meaning it will not react with any food. Our containers are also BPA free and NSF certified.

Doesn’t it take water and energy to wash reusables?
Yes; however, minimal water and energy are needed to clean reusables in high efficiency commercial dishwashers. Disposables have far greater water and energy footprints due to all of their upstream production impacts.

What if my container gets broken or damaged?
No worries! Just email support@togogreen.eco with your name, contact information, order number, photos of the damaged container(s), and a brief explanation. We will provide you with next steps.

How can I get my favorite restaurant(s) to join the network?
Just let them know that you’d like to see To Go Green reusables in their establishment! We’ll not only help them achieve their sustainability goals but also cut their packaging costs. If they’re interested or wish to learn more, direct them to our "For Restaurants" page, where they can submit a partnership request form.
